The City Council granted an exception to the prohibition on parklets—a temporary use in the CZO—to Andrew Wilson of Cuban Creations. Although the N.O. Advocate headlines Cuban Creations as the “last remaining cigar bar” in the FQ, Wilson is also co-owner of the Bombay Club, where patrons may smoke cigars on the patio. Freddie King, III, made the motion, which passed 5–0. Lesli Harris recused herself from the vote; and Oliver Thomas was absent from the dais at the time.

The N.O. HDLC denied the application of Blue Orleans, LLC, for the full demolition to grade of the single-family contributing-rated house at 2502 Jefferson in agreement with the HDLC Staff Report.

5512-24 Tchoupitoulas St.—Uptown Historic District
CM Joe Giarrusso approved the demolition of three 19th-century houses at 5512-24 Tchoupitoulas over the objections of preservationists, who cited years of neglect by owners Kevin Hilbert, Andrew Stall, and Jonathan Drennan, dba Car Wash Blues, LLC. A team of five consultants showed up at the hearing—but not the owners.
